Our Commitment to Water Sustainability on World Water Day

Cultivating Global Water Solutions Through Innovation and Action

World Map_World Water Day

As articulated by the United Nations, World Water Day, observed on 22 March every year since 1993, serves as a crucial annual event focusing on the significance of freshwater. Celebrating water and shedding light on the staggering 2.2 billion people without access to safe water, this observance prompts action to address the global water crisis. World Water Day's central mission aligns with the pursuit of Sustainable Development Goal 6: ensuring water and sanitation for all by 2030, a goal that demands collective efforts and awareness.

Our Role in Water Conservation

Our products play an important role in freshwater conservation, focusing on accurate leak detection in distribution pipes. The Sensistor® XRS9012 stands out in leak detection, contributing to the conservation of water and supporting responsible water management.

Water Analysis Technologies

Our technologies extend to water analysis, ensuring the safety and quality of water sources. The CMS5000 VOC Monitoring System autonomously samples volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in water. These applications cover critical areas such as drinking water distribution systems, source water protection, wastewater discharge compliance, and groundwater remediation.

Additionally, the IRwin® leak detector, employed in wastewater treatment plants, monitors methane emissions, a greenhouse gas and can help quantify biogenic emissions in the effort to reduce carbon emissions and stop climate change.

On-Scene Analysis with HAPSITE SituProbe

The HAPSITE® SituProbe Purge and Trap GC/MS System exemplify our commitment to immediate, on-scene analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in water. This system provides emergency response and environmental testing professionals with rapid water analysis, ensuring swift decision-making affecting life, health, and safety.

Our Sustainability Initiatives

At our location in Syracuse we actively collaborate with SUNY ESF on projects aimed at naturalizing the landscape to increase biodiversity and minimize stormwater runoff. Water usage surveys are underway to identify areas for implementing water-saving measures, aligning with the company's commitment to responsible resource management.

In Balzers, Liechtenstein, we have implemented a closed water life cycle, effectively reusing cooling water instead of returning it to the sewage. This initiative significantly reduces water consumption and aligns with our sustainability goals. At our site in Liechtenstein each employee received a meaningful present—a reusable water bottle in collaboration with the “Drink & Donate” initiative. This thoughtful gesture not only eliminates the use of single-use cups within our office, but also aligns with our commitment to environmental values and supports global access to clean water. With each water bottle purchased, a donation was made, and we further multiplied this contribution for drinking water projects. This unique approach ensures that our daily hydration routine extends beyond personal wellness to making a positive impact on communities in need.

Future Initiatives

We are actively exploring additional initiatives. While plans are still in development, we are dedicated to contributing meaningfully to water-related causes.

As we commemorate World Water Day, we remain steadfast in our mission to leverage technology and sustainable practices for the betterment of water resources globally.

Together, let us envision a future where access to safe water is a reality for every individual.
