The IRwin® Methane Leak Detector is a portable, innovative infrared leak detector for fast and accurate natural gas leak detection. It features a four-gas meter, LEL meter, CGI and Ethane identifier, all in one instrument. The infrared sensor system provides quick response, preventing false alarms during natural gas leak detection and enabling precise leak evaluation.

Onboard ethane analysis
Its built-in gas chromatograph (GC) distinguishes natural gas from swamp gas, even at low ethane levels, for quick on-site ethane/methane determination. The wide detection range spans from 1 ppm to 100 Vol.%, with a Universal+ Mode for simplified operation.
Simplified operation
IRwin’s innovative probe system is designed to make natural gas surveys faster and more efficient, allowing technicians to carry less equipment while accomplishing more in the field. The built-in logfile automatically records survey data, while the IRwin Check-In App streamlines digital documentation—reducing administrative work and improving accuracy.
Building on this efficiency, the new CGI functionality enables rapid combustible gas measurements in addition to leak surveys, letting a single instrument handle a wider range of tasks.
By combining these features, IRwin saves time, reduces the number of tools needed, and simplifies both fieldwork and office operations.
Safety and Compliance
Ex-certified IRwin SX models are approved for use in hazardous environments (Zone 0 / Class I Division 1). Rating is: Ex ia IIC T3, EPL Ga. Additional marking: II 1G for ATEX and Intrinsically Safe Class I, Division 1, Groups B, C and D, T3, for the US.
IRwin holds multiple national and international certifications, including ATEX, IECEx and CSA, and complies with recognized safety standards worldwide, including U.S. PHMSA requirements.
