Introducing EcoBoost
Enhanced Efficiency in Leak Testing with LDS Platform

After years of successful use in the field, INFICON has expanded the EcoBoost feature for the LDS platform.
EcoBoost, previously available for helium, now also supports forming gas on the LDS3000 with the latest software version, as well as argon and air on the new LDS Arnova. Dynamic background compensation is now available for more tracer gases and applications.
What is EcoBoost (formerly I·Zero 3.0)?
EcoBoost builds on the excellent repeatability and linearity of the LDS platform to accurately predict the decreasing tracer gas background in a vacuum leak testing system. The tracer gas background forecast is taken into account to create a higher effective sensitivity of the leak detection system in industrial applications. Thus, small leak rates can be detected on an elevated and still decreasing background. Larger leak rates will be measured more accurately and, smaller leak rates will be detected with high reliability with the EcoBoost feature.
EcoBoost predicts the decreasing tracer gas background and factors it into the measurement. You start testing earlier, spend less on tracer gas and keep your line running – without compromising accuracy.

Start Measuring earlier
No more waiting for the background to settle: measurements start while it is still decreasing. Shorter cycle times and higher throughput – with the same accuracy.

Use less helium – or none at all
The higher effective sensitivity lets you work with diluted helium and still detect small leaks reliably. Many applications can switch from helium to forming gas or argon entirely.

Smaller pumps are sufficient
Because EcoBoost tolerates a higher, still-decreasing helium background, test systems can be designed with smaller vacuum pumps.

Production keeps running after a gross leak
Elevated helium background – known as helium contamination – after a gross leak no longer stops or slows down your production.

Success story for EcoBoost
One of the early adopters of the EcoBoost feature was the German system integrator Worthmann Maschinenbau who implemented EcoBoost in a system designed for testing fuel cell bipolar plates. This successful implementation underscores the effectiveness and versatility of EcoBoost in real-world industrial applications.

With the introduction of EcoBoost, INFICON reaffirms its commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions that redefine efficiency and productivity standards in leak testing procedures. Leveraging advanced technology and customer-centric innovation, EcoBoost sets a new benchmark for excellence in leak detection across diverse industrial applications.
