Job Description

Hazard Assessment & Monitoring:

  • Conduct routine qualitative and quantitative assessments of workplace environments, including indoor air quality, chemical exposure and noise levels.
  • Measure and evaluate the potential exposure to hazardous substances such as gases, vapors, particulate matter, and solvents used in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Implement and maintain environmental monitoring programs, including the use of personal and area sampling direct reading and integrative sampling methods.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ACGIH, EPA, NIOSH, DEC and other relevant industrial hygiene standards and regulations in a semiconductor manufacturing setting.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary reports and documentation for internal and regulatory purposes.
  • Assist with inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety protocols and best practices.

Risk Mitigation & Control:

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, ACGIH, EPA, NIOSH, DEC and other relevant industrial hygiene standards and regulations in a semiconductor manufacturing setting.
  • Prepare and maintain necessary reports and documentation for internal and regulatory purposes.
  • Assist with inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety protocols and best practices.

Training & Education:

  • Develop and deliver training programs on industrial hygiene topics, including chemical safety, proper use of PPE, and safe work practices.
  • Provide guidance to employees and management on proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals and materials.

Incident Investigation & Reporting:

  • Investigate potential exposure incidents and accidents, analyzing the root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Track and report trends related to health and safety issues in the semiconductor manufacturing process.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay current with new industry best practices, regulations, and innovations in industrial hygiene, ensuring the company maintains a cutting-edge approach to health and safety in semiconductor manufacturing.

EHS Program Management:

  • Contribute to writing, managing and implementing EHS programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field of Study.
  • 3+ years of Industrial Hygienist experience (in a chemical environment highly preferred) 
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist candidates are preferred. 

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $87k and $97k per year.  In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 10%.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
