Opening of the INFICON Guangzhou Application Center
INFICON celebrated the opening of its new Application Center in Guangzhou, P.R. China, following an eight-month project timeline. This modern facility represents a significant step in the company's commitment to innovation, research, and meeting the evolving needs of the Chinese market. The event, attended by media representatives, executives from headquarters, and colleagues from across the company, marked a significant milestone in INFICON's expansion into the Chinese market.
The concept for the Guangzhou Application Center was initiated in mid-2023 with the aim of creating a space conducive to technological breakthroughs and aligned with the core values from our company, while also addressing the specific requirements of the Chinese market. Staffed by a team of experienced application engineers and equipped with state-of-the-art instruments, the center is dedicated to providing tailored application solutions to Chinese users across various industries. The initial phase of operations focuses on application development in the lithium battery industry and has received positive feedback from trial users.
During the opening ceremony, Enzo Strappazzon, Executive team member and President at INFICON delivered a speech and expressed pride in the team's dedication and enthusiasm, emphasizing the proximity to Chinese customers and the potential for closer cooperation and successful projects. In his words:
Dr. Thomas Grellmann, former head of the German Application Center, has been appointed as the general director of the Guangzhou Application Center to ensure the center's technical excellence and service quality. Dr. Grellmann reiterated the center's commitment to leveraging global resources and providing Chinese users with international-standard application solutions with increased agility and efficiency.
Following the ceremony, guests were given a tour of the center's facilities, allowing them to experience firsthand the quality of INFICON products and services. A roundtable discussion with media representatives was also held to further explore the center's objectives and capabilities
