New cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Grisons

A university degree course with integrated practical phases in a company - this is made possible by a cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Grisons, Switzerland . This so-called dual study program focuses on practical training and the combination of study and work.

Balzers (Liechtenstein), February 7, 2024

We enter into a cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Graubünden, Switzerland, and jointly offer dual Bachelor's programs in Artificial Intelligence in Software Engineering, Computational and Data Science, Mobile Robotics and Photonics. This enables students to combine their studies with a practical qualification in their profession.

Both sides benefit from knowledge and technology transfer

Students receive practical training through this offer and an interaction is created. For example, project and Bachelor's theses can be developed as part of the course, implemented as company projects at our company and supervised by lecturers from the University of Applied Sciences. In addition, elective modules can be covered by verified in-house further training courses.

With the dual study program, we kill two birds with one stone: we train junior employees in a practical and academic way. This makes us an attractive employer and promotes top talent internally.

The collaboration between INFICON, students and lecturers results in a valuable transfer of knowledge and technology. The latest findings from applied research are communicated to students, who apply them to real-life tasks at INFICON. This helps to give them a head start in terms of knowledge and innovation. Networking with researchers at the UAS Grisons can also lead to valuable collaborations in research projects.

First cooperation of this type

This is the first time that a company has created such an offer together with the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons. Talks are currently being held with other companies and the university is open to others.

We are delighted that the internationally active company INFICON believes in this type of training and is working with the UAS Graubünden to promote young talent.
