INFICON Åland is seeking a Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join our production team in Mariehamn, Åland, Finland. We are looking for a candidate with strong proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written, as Swedish is our working language.

Your Role

As a Manufacturing Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in developing our Manufacturing Execution System (MES), which is built with MS SQL as the back-end and MS Access as the front-end. The system is central to our production, managing traceability, quality controls, measurement data, and production flows. We see significant potential to enhance the system in order to improve user-friendliness and enable deeper analysis of production data, ideally with strong graphical capabilities. We are also keen to explore opportunities for integrating AI into the system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Defining system requirements in collaboration with the production team
  • Developing the back-end database and the graphical front-end system
  • Integrating the MES with SAP and other systems
  • Overseeing the operation and continued development of the system
  • Developing and maintaining solutions for continuous data monitoring, such as SPC and KPI tracking

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Experience in programming and database management
  • Ability to analyze data and identify correlations
  • Practical and solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written

Meriting

  • Experience in project management and quality assurance
  • Knowledge of commercial MES systems
  • Experience with lean and agile working methods
