Job Description

As a Repair Technician with INFICON, you would be diagnosing, repairing and testing State-Of-The-Art Analytical equipment that is being sent in to the Syracuse Repair center from all over the world, and from customers of many different industries, ie Automotive Manufacturing, Food and Beverage Packaging, and Semiconductor Manufacturing to name a few.

Job Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair INFICON equipment to module and component level.
  • Test and verify operation of repaired equipment.
  • Document individual equipment repair incidences utilizing the SAP service computer system.
  • Become proficient to service and repair multiple INFICON product lines.
  • Maintain and assist in the construction of specialized Service Center equipment.
  • Operate the required test/service equipment, PC software applications, and SAP applications.

Qualifications

  • An Associate degree (AAS) in Mechanical Technology or related field, or 2 years of experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly required.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail required.
  • Must have ability to use a variety of mechanical tools and use electronic test equipment.
  • Must be organized and keep accurate records.
  • Must communicate and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Will be expected to interface effectively with supervision and work in a team-based environment.
  • Must be comfortable using PC's and be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • May be required to lift moderately heavy instruments (up to 40 lbs) on a weekly basis and must have a reasonable level of manual dexterity.

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $20 and $25 per hour.  In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 10%. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
