Job Description

  • Develop and improve Pirani vacuum gauges
  • Contribute to and lead technology studies and R&D development projects
  • Provide technical expertise and application support within the organization
  • Monitor patents and technological developments
  • Perform multiphysics simulations (e.g., COMSOL) to understand and optimize sensor behavior
  • Design and conduct verification and validation tests
  • Support product lifecycle management and controlled product changes
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including electronics, production, and product management
  • Meet with customers to understand application needs and discuss solutions with a customer-centric focus
  • Participate in conferences, workshops, and panel discussions to represent INFICON and exchange knowledge with the scientific community

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Knowledge of vacuum technology is required
  • Strong understanding of thermal physics or gas dynamics
  • Experience with multiphysics simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL)
  • Experience with experimental work and laboratory testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is a plus
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Curiosity for understanding physical mechanisms in real-world devices
  • Hands-on mentality and structured working style
  • Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams
  • Enjoy working with international colleagues
  • Willingness to travel worldwide
