This document describes the software release notes
for the VGC501, VGC502 and VGC503.

- Support for BAG5xx, BPG5xx and BCG552 gauges
- new Mnemonic interface commands
  - 'GIM' GaugeType
    The new command 'GIM' (Gauge Identification Mode)
    makes it possible to switch the identification of
    each measuring channel from 'AUTO' to a fixed gauge
    type.
    On the one hand, this can prevent errors due to
    incorrect identification in critical applications
    with large sources of interference.
    On the other hand, gauges without an identification
    resistor and a different output characteristic can
    now also be operated on the VGC50x.
    The default setting of the 'Gauge Identification
    Mode' is 0='AUTO'.
  - 'GFx' Gauge x Formula
    With the additional commands 'GFx' (Gauge x Formula,
    per measuring channel) and using three parameters
    (a,b,c), almost any conversion from voltage to
    pressure can be carried out.
    Two formulas are available for either logarithmic
    or linear characteristics.
    - p = 10^((U - a) / b + c) (logarithmic characteristic)
    - p = U * a + b (linear characteristic)
    The default setting of the 'Gauge x Formula' is
    '6.143,1.286,0'. These values correspond to the
    logarithmic characteristic of the PSG500 gauge.
- Extended measuring range for Pirani gauges
  down to 1.1E-4 mbar (previously 5.0E-4 mbar)

  measuring channel permanently
- Added floating point representation for logarithmic
  gauges when the FORMAT setting is 'X.X' and

Fixed Problems

- With the key-lock function, sensor on/off by
  keyboard is now also locked
- COR factor does now also affect SP setting range
- Fixed bug - an additional <CR><LF> sent after the
  <ENQ> character could reboot the device
- A sensor fault now always switches off the
  controlled sensor
- Fixed bug - when increasing the pressure of a HPG
  gauge from the Ioni to the Pirani range, a pressure
  in the E-6 range is displayed for a moment
- PEG100 does not switch on (~1s) anymore at power on
  of the VGC501

- New option to specify a unit of measurement when
  editing parameter setups :
  If saving parameter setups to a USB-stick, the
  values for setpoint/threshold values and offset
  are always stored in the unit mBar/hPa.
  If restoring parameter setups from a USB-stick
  and no unit has been specified in the file for the
  setpoint/threshold values and the offset, the value
  is read in the unit mBar/hPa.
  Otherwise, one of the measurement units 'MBAR',
  'HPASCAL', 'TORR', 'PASCAL' or 'MICRON' must be
  explicitly entered in capital letters and with a
  single space, eg. '5.00-4 TORR' or '0.0002 PASCAL'.

- HV-Pins at the CONTROL connector now control
  correctly the sensor when powering the VGC50x
- FSR "DIxxxx" in OLV compatibility mode is no longer
  reset when powering up
- Setpoint settings for SP-H are now adopted
  correctly for linear sensors at startup. Mistakenly
  an adjustment of 10% was made at the start before.
