Syracuse, NY - May 9, 2019
INFICON Inc., a leading supplier of vacuum instrumentation and process control software to the semiconductor manufacturing industry, has been recognized by ON Semiconductor as their 2018 Front End Site Supplier of the Year. Jeffrey P. Wincel, Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer, ON Semiconductor, presented the award to Steve Lakeman, Senior Director of INFICON’s Intelligent Manufacturing Systems division at a ceremony in Vietnam on April 30, 2019. This prestigious award acknowledges the contributions the INFICON FabGuard® Process Control System provides in meeting the quality and consistency challenges of today’s semiconductor manufacturing.
As ON Semiconductor wafer fabs began to deploy the FabGuard software, the company realized immediate results as FabGuard improved yield and reduced wafer scrap. Since then, ON Semiconductor fabs, existing and newly acquired, continue to deploy this level of control well beyond the original scope. INFICON is working closely with ON Semiconductor to develop new capabilities, including targeting the monitoring and control of subfab and facilities equipment.
“We are extremely proud of this award from On Semiconductor and will continue to expand our manufacturing software capabilities to provide this great partner the tools they need to provide innovative solutions to their customers,” said Oliver Wyrsch, President, INFICON Inc.
The proven success of FabGuard at ON Semiconductor has permeated into their supply chain, as many of its suppliers now also use FabGuard software to maximize their own processes.
