When conducting environmental testing, the integrity of remotely collected samples can be compromised due to container contamination, thermal exposure, or instability of the compound or mixture. When the sample source is not obvious; such as indoor air quality or vapor intrusion applications, it is impossible to know if a viable sample was collected. The person-portable HAPSITE ER Chemical Identification System gas chromatograph/mass spectrometer (GC/MS) collects samples directly to provide on-site analysis of gases, liquids or solids with laboratory quality results. Designed for field applications, HAPSITE ER is used for near real-time chemical analysis by environmental agencies and consultants worldwide to provide fast, accurate trace level detection, identification and quantitation of a wide range of volatile organic compounds (VOC), including toxic industrial chemicals (TIC). HAPSITE ER identifies and quantifies chemicals on-site to facilitate timely decisions regarding environmental impacts and health risk assessments.
Long-term resource monitoring programs, such as river restoration projects, chemical spills, or brown field remediation, require continuous, remote sampling of surface water or groundwater. Similarly, clean room and indoor air quality applications require continual trace-level VOC analysis and data compilation. CMS5000 Monitoring System is designed for long-term, unattended trace-level monitoring of VOCs in water or air. The CMS5000 Modbus protocol interface can be integrated into a variety of commonly used laboratory data control systems, so data can be easily uploaded from a remote sampling station.
The US EPA describes global warming, as “the recent and ongoing rise in global average temperature near Earth's surface. It is caused mostly by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.” Nearly 21% of emissions worldwide are due to methane from landfills and wastewater. Surface methane monitoring of landfills is mandated in several countries, and US EPA Method 21 provides guidelines for the determination of total volatile organic compound (TVOC) leaks, which are mainly comprised of methane. DataFID is an intrinsically safe, portable flame ionization detector (FID) that safely measures VOC emissions, and meets and exceeds Method 21 instrument requirements.
